Cox and Green Run are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Falcons will take on the Stallions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Kempsville hit Cox with a six-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons came up short against the Chiefs, falling 11-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Cox saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Hauser, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Olivia Peterson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Green Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 11-2 to Princess Anne.

Emma Franklin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Zabala, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Green Run's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Cox, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Cox took their victory against Green Run in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 20-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
