Recap: Cumberland Gap Panthers vs. Washburn Pirates
The Cumberland Gap Panthers lost to the Washburn Pirates back in January, but the Cumberland Gap Panthers didn't allow the Washburn Pirates the same satisfaction on Monday. Cumberland Gap took down Washburn 49-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cumberland Gap.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ebany Hill, who scored 10 points. Hill scored a full 28.6% of Washburn's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Saylor Clay, who scored 10 points.
Cumberland Gap's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Washburn, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland Gap will take on Pineville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washburn will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Berean Christian at 6:00 p.m. on November 28th.
