Baseball Recap: St. Edmund Comes Up Short

St. Edmund was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sacred Heart Trojans. The Fighting Blue Jays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

St. Edmund saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Rider, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Rider has posted since back in February of 2024. Wyatt Dubios also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

St. Edmund's record now sits at 7-12. As for Sacred Heart, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Edmund will square off against Berchmans Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sacred Heart, they will be playing at home against Crowley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
