Basketball Game Preview: Collinsville Pirates vs. Tioga Bulldogs

The Collinsville Pirates will head out to take on the Tioga Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Collinsville is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-45, which was the final score in Collinsville's tilt against Slidell on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1401st, while the Greyhounds are ranked 483rd).

Meanwhile, Tioga was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 39-33 to Era.

Tioga has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Collinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Collinsville skirted past Tioga 45-42 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Collinsville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
