Baseball Game Preview: Norwich RVT Warriors vs. Cheney Tech Chargers

The Norwich RVT Warriors will head out to face off against the Cheney Tech Chargers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Norwich RVT will be strutting in after a victory while Cheney Tech will be coming in after a defeat.

While Norwich RVT's win against Griswold wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Wolverines 14-13 on Friday. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

John Mastrokis was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He also snagged a stolen base, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Collin Schulze, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cheney Tech came up short against Somers on Saturday, falling 10-4. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Cheney Tech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Milvae, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Norwich RVT's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Cheney Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Cheney Tech's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Norwich RVT hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Cheney Tech, though, as they've only averaged .199. Will they be able to contain Norwich RVT's hitters?

Norwich RVT took their win against Cheney Tech in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
