Softball Recap: Wilton Warriors vs. New Fairfield Rebels

Wilton's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the New Fairfield Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 17, 2024.

Leianna Cross made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Cross was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Ruby Prior looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
