It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Marion had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Enterprise Bulldogs by a score of 7-3. The win was familiar territory for West Marion who now have four in a row.

Nik Carney was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Carney has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Carney was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Carney wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kolby Stringer, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Andre Sumrall was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
