Recap: Killeen Kangaroos vs. Red Oak Hawks

The Killeen Kangaroos pushed their score all the way to 37 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Red Oak on the road by a decisive 56-37 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (34), Killeen still had to take the loss.

Killeen's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tekoree Landours, who picked up 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Landours was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 60 yards. Timothy Boatner also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Chris Martinez jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Red Oak, rushing for 262 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 35 receiving yards. Martinez jr is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Reggie Moody was another key contributor, throwing for 263 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes.

Killeen has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Red Oak, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Killeen will be playing in front of their home fans against Shoemaker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Red Oak, they will head out on the road to face off against Granbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Granbury will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 519th, while Red Oak is ranked 51st).
