Football Recap: Bountiful's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Bountiful and West squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bountiful had to settle for second. They took a 14-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The contest marked the Redhawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hudson Malmrose threw for 57 yards on four of 12 attempts. Tyce Budge was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Siaki Fekitoa rushed for 56 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamden Lopati, who rushed for 89 yards, and also threw for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Lopati got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 50 yards. Louie Hamilton was another key player, rushing for 188 yards.

Bountiful's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for West, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Bountiful does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West, they will square off against Orem at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
