Baseball Recap: Carencro Comes Up Short

Carencro lost to New Iberia on Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bears came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 18-5. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trevor Gilliland made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Keilyn Lenormand, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Carencro's defeat dropped their record down to 8-19. As for New Iberia, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Carencro is set to face off against their familiar foe Southside at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, New Iberia will take on rival Acadiana at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
