Softball Recap: Licking Extends Winning Streak to Three

Licking waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Salem Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 15-10 loss.

Kimree Brazier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Brazier was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Zoey Dawson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Gorman, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Licking's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. As for Salem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Licking nor Salem have any future games scheduled.
