Baseball Recap: Granite Hills Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Granite Hills put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Scripps Ranch Falcons with a sharp 7-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Falcons since March 23, 2017.

Josh Butters tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Tommy Entrekin was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Anthony Miotti was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Granite Hills pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Scripps Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Granite Hills will take on Point Loma in a tournament on Monday. Point Loma's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Granite Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Scripps Ranch, they will venture away from home to square off against Montgomery at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
