Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Mountain). They walked away with a 73-61 win over the Horizon Huskies on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Horizon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Parker Burke, who posted nine points and five boards. Burke continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Milner, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Desert Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Horizon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Desert Mountain will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Horizon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. Horizon is facing Chaparral at the right time seeing as Chaparral is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
