Basketball Recap: Augusta Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Augusta came into Tuesday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 53-43 victory over the Midland Mustangs on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Red Devils: when they faced off against the Mustangs last Tuesday, they had to take a 63-51 loss.

Despite the loss, Midland still got an impressive performance from Riley Pruitt, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards. That was a full 48.8% of Midland's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter May, who put up eight points and seven rebounds.

Augusta's win bumped their record up to 2-15. As for Midland, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Augusta has already played their next contest (against Sacred Heart), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Midland will look to defend their home court on Friday against Guy-Perkins at 6:00 p.m.
