It was a good run, but Rice Memorial unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Seahorses. The Green Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahorses apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Rice Memorial's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Burlington, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

While Rice Memorial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
