Stratford is 1-6 against Cy-Fair since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Cy-Fair will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Stratford extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Spartans blew past Jersey Village 47-14. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won three contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Davis Kendall, who rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 87 receiving yards and one TD. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run. Another player making a difference was Gavin Guzman, who rushed for 62 yards and one score on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stratford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Meanwhile, Cy-Fair fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Memorial on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.
Stratford will have to keep a close watch on Sean Riegler and Henry Lamar Brooks Jr, a pair of players who had a big impact on Cy-Fair's prior game. Riegler threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes, while Lamar Brooks Jr picked up 108 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Cy-Fair's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Stratford, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Saturday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Guzman and Riegler. Guzman just won't slow down this season and has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 148.2 passing yards per game. Riegler has been a dominant force too and has thrown 19 touchdowns while averaging 254.5 passing yards per game.
