Basketball Recap: Brie Mccoy Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

Creekside lost to Ponte Vedra back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Creekside Knights walked away with a 59-46 victory over the Ponte Vedra Sharks.

Creekside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brie McCoy, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those 20 points gave McCoy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Siun Crowley, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

Ponte Vedra's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arden Doherty, who had nine points and five rebounds. Doherty has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Jocelyn Hoffmann was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Creekside's record is now 8-2. As for Ponte Vedra, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Creekside will take on Nease in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponte Vedra, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-30 win against Riverside on the 16th.
