Basketball Recap: St. Stanislaus Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, St. Stanislaus couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 73-55 to the McLaurin Tigers.

Michael Wallace continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for McLaurin, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 12 assists. That's the most assists Wallace has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylon Williams, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 18 points along with five boards and three steals.

St. Stanislaus' loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for McLaurin, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

St. Stanislaus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McLaurin, they will square off against Coahoma County at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Coahoma County comes in on 14 and McLaurin on nine.
