Basketball Recap: Ravenscroft's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of four wins, Ravenscroft's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The contest between them and the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights didn't end well, with the Ravenscroft Ravens falling 70-51. The Ravens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Ravenscroft lost, don't look at Ellie Cronin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. The match was Cronin's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Mason, who posted 12 points.

Even though they lost, Ravenscroft was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Raleigh Christian Academy only racked up five assists.

It was another big night for Khloe Moye, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 40 points and ten rebounds for North Raleigh Christian Academy. That makes it five consecutive games in which Moye has scored at least a third of North Raleigh Christian Academy's points. Presley Ray was another key player, putting up eight points and nine boards.

Ravenscroft's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-13. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ravenscroft will venture away from home to take on Durham Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Ravenscroft is facing Durham Academy at the right time seeing as Durham Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. North Raleigh Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
