Basketball Recap: Blackwell's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Blackwell hadn't done well against Alva recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Blackwell Maroons walked away with a 50-39 victory over the Alva Goldbugs. This was a revenge game for the Maroons: when they faced off against the Goldbugs on January 3rd, they had to take a 63-59 loss.

Blackwell's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Alva, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Blackwell will venture away from home to take on Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Blackwell likes a good challenge. As for Alva, they will face off against Woodward at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodward will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Alva surely won't give up without a fight.
