Softball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Comes Up Short

Diamond Hill-Jarvis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Dunbar Wildcats, falling 19-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 20-15 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Elizabeth Sanchez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole Six bases. while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kassandra Moreno, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4.

Sanchez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Diamond Hill-Jarvis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Dunbar, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-6 record.

Coincidentally, Diamond Hill-Jarvis and Dunbar will both be playing Southwest the next time they take the field. Dunbar will head out to face Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Diamond Hill-Jarvis will host them at 6:30 p.m. on March 14th.
