Basketball Recap: Goose Creek Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Goose Creek can now relate to. The game between the Goose Creek Gators and the Berkeley Stags didn't end well, with the Goose Creek Gators falling 53-36. The Gators' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Goose Creek's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Celeste Griffin, who shot 63% from the field en route to 15 points, and Madeline Dates, who posted 12 points. Griffin continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Aiyanna Moses was nothing short of spectacular for Berkeley: she went 6-for-10 on her way to 15 points and five steals. Moses has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Amani Mccray was another key player, putting up eight points and 13 rebounds.

Goose Creek's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Berkeley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
