Basketball Recap: Waccamaw Comes Up Short

After flying high against Latta last Thursday, Waccamaw came back down to earth. The Waccamaw Warriors had to suffer through a 71-36 loss at the hands of the Carolina Forest Panthers. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.

Carolina Forest's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Miracle Mclean, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Mclean is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Danyri Legette was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points and six steals.

Waccamaw has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Carolina Forest, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Waccamaw wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 35-25 victory against Cane Bay on the 4th. As for Carolina Forest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-28 win against Kingstree on the 4th.
