Football Recap: Newberry Academy Comes Up Short

Newberry Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 22-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wardlaw Academy Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Newberry Academy of the 32-24 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Newberry Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Wardlaw Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Newberry Academy will square off against King Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wardlaw Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Richard Winn Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
