Baseball Recap: Page Takes a Loss

Page had taken Chinle down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Sand Devils fell 5-2 to the Wildcats. The Sand Devils have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Jaren Scott was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Page saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaine Begay, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Page's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Chinle, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.

Page wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-0 victory against Monument Valley on the 3rd. As for Chinle, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against St. Johns on the 3rd.
