Softball Recap: Portsmouth's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Portsmouth came into Wednesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Woonsocket Villa Novans get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Portsmouth let Emily Bronson and Lilly Morgado run wild. Bronson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Morgado went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Morgado a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Toner, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Portsmouth's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Woonsocket, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Portsmouth has already played their next game, a 9-7 victory against Barrington on the 8th. As for Woonsocket, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-6 defeat against Scituate on the 12th.
