Baseball Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

Martinsville lost against Greenwood last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Artesians came up short against the Woodmen, falling 15-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Artesians have suffered since May 15, 2024.

Rhys Wolf made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Martinsville is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. As for Greenwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martinsville will take on Bloomington North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Columbus East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Woodmen are facing the Olympians at the right time seeing as the Olympians are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
