Basketball Game Preview: Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes vs. West Prairie Cyclones

Abingdon/Avon has gone a perfect 5-0 against West Prairie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Abingdon/Avon has three straight victories, West Prairie has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Abingdon/Avon escaped with a win against Annawan by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.

Abingdon/Avon found their leader in freshman Treveon Kenon, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Kenon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Foutch, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, West Prairie came up short against Rushville-Industry on Tuesday, falling 61-37.

Abingdon/Avon's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for West Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

Everything came up roses for Abingdon/Avon against West Prairie in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, as the team secured a 55-18 victory. Will Abingdon/Avon repeat their success, or does West Prairie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
