Volleyball Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the New Palestine Dragons. The Artesians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-21.

Owen Zurita paced Martinsville's offense, picking up six kills. Zurita got some help from Garrett Gardner and his eight assists. Finally, Jayden Chaboya kept Martinsville's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Martinsville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for New Palestine, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Martinsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Greenwood on the 16th. As for New Palestine, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Covenant Christian on the 16th.
