Recap: Holgate Tigers vs. North Central Eagles
The Holgate Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They secured a 57-51 W over North Central. The win was a breath of fresh air for Holgate as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
North Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joe Burt, who scored 19 points along with two steals. That was a full 37.3% of North Central's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Hicks, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Holgate's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for North Central, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holgate's road trip will continue as they head out to face Archbold at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Archbold will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for North Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Hicksville at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hicksville is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
