Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Mustangs vs. McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars

The Tri-Valley Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-Valley is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Tri-Valley came up short against Milbank and fell 60-48.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McCook Central/Montrose). They blew past Philip, posting an 85-43 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win got McCook Central/Montrose back to even at 9-9. As for Tri-Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Tri-Valley came up short against McCook Central/Montrose when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 68-60. Can Tri-Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
