Softball Recap: Covington Comes Up Short

Covington was the 8-5 winner over Riverside when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Buccs fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.

Ava Hartwig was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda McClure, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Riverside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Covington will challenge rival Miami East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Riverside is set to square off against their familiar foe Milton-Union at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
