Baseball Recap: Fairless' Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Fairless was the 10-3 winner over Tuslaw when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs on Monday. The loss was the Falcons' first of the season.

Mike Ritterbeck was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Ritterbeck wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Gaal, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fairless fell to 5-1. As for Tuslaw, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

While Fairless had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
