Basketball Recap: Yusuf Sharif Key Part of a Team Effort in Lynx Win

After losing to St. Benedict at Auburndale the last time they met, Lausanne Collegiate decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx secured a 58-52 W over the St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles on Friday. While the Lynx didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lausanne Collegiate got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Yusuf Sharif out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Patrick Thompson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Lausanne Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Lausanne Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-62 loss against Power Center Academy on the 17th. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-48 defeat against Ridgeway on the 14th.
