Basketball Recap: Aj Koontz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bedford over Everett

Bedford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Everett Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bisons have suffered since January 26, 2024.

Several Bisons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aj Koontz, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Horne, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

Even though they lost, Bedford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Bedford's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Everett, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Bedford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-39 victory against Somerset on the 28th. Everett has also already played their next game, an 82-70 win against Juniata Valley on the 28th.
