Westfield Area (Westfield, Wis.) took an early lead against Adams-Friendship (Adams, Wis.) and held on for a 42-0 victory on Saturday.
The Pioneers put up 21 points in the opening quarter. Westfield Area scored on a defensive touchdown, a
Tanner Akers touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Alex Slowey.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, WA led 28-0 at the half.
The Westfield school grew its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. The Pioneers scored two times in the third, including once on a
Jake Wasson touchdown run.
Westfield Area has struggled this season, allowing 31.5 points per game.
A 55-20 Westfield Area victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Westfield school, which was coming off a 36-34 defeat at the hands of Nekoosa in its previous game.
Adams-Friendship (1-6) will play a South Central game against Nekoosa next week, while Westfield Area (4-3) will take on Mauston also in a South Central game.
