Softball Preview: North Valleys Panthers vs. Truckee Wolverines

North Valleys has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Truckee Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. North Valleys knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Truckee likes a good challenge.

North Valleys can now show off 17 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Wooster as North Valleys made off with a 19-4 victory.

Jordan Gainey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Karli Klein, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Truckee won against Hug on Saturday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Truckee walked away with an 11-7 win over Hug. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Truckee.

Scarlett Fierro made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fierro was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Fierro wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Inis, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

North Valleys pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Truckee, their record is now 10-11.
