Garfield entered their tilt with John F. Kennedy Catholic on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win.

Garfield's got stronger as the match went on, holding John F. Kennedy Catholic to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-23, 25-15.

Mandy Cardinal paced Garfield's offense, picking up 15 kills. Cardinal got some help from Tenley Korosec and her 16 assists. Lily Shay controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the defeat, John F. Kennedy Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lyla Day had 13 digs and three aces.

Garfield's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coming up, Garfield is taking a road trip to face off against Newton Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they will be playing at home against Ursuline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
