Basketball Game Preview: Mississinewa Indians vs. New Castle Trojans

Mississinewa is 0-6 against New Castle since February of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Indians will welcome the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Mississinewa came up short against Angola and fell 68-56. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Hornets are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, New Castle came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 62-47 victory over Northeastern on Friday.

Mississinewa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for New Castle, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Mississinewa suffered a grim 57-35 defeat to New Castle when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Thankfully for the Indians, Landon Thompson (who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
