Softball Recap: Nocona Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Nocona was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They lost 19-1 to the Lindsay Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Heidi Atteberry was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Nocona's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Lindsay, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Nocona will take on Era at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Nocona is facing Era at the right time seeing as Era is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lindsay, they are taking a road trip to take on Chico at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lindsay's pitchers better be ready for this one: Chico has averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
