Recap: Churubusco Eagles vs. Westview Warriors
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Churubusco Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday. Churubusco just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, Churubusco still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Eby, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailin Foote, who scored six points along with two steals.
Westview found their leader in underclassman Bre Cory, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cory has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karis Weinberg, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Churubusco has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Westview, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-18.
Churubusco does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westview, they will face off against Fremont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fremont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
