Southwest Covenant had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Wellston Tigers by a score of 10-7. With that victory, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Kale Karn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Karn was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Beshears, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Journey Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Southwest Covenant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 8.8.

Southwest Covenant's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Wellston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.
