Morse and Erskine Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Shipbuilders will face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Morse has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Morse took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Lincoln Academy by a score of 17-12. The Shipbuilders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Erskine Academy hadn't done well against Gardiner recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles walked away with a 6-3 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Kelsie Dunn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Erskine Academy got a big performance out of Stella Martinelli, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryana Barrett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Erskine Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gardiner only posted an OBP of .300.

The victory got Erskine Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Morse, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Morse might still be hurting after the 16-3 defeat they got from Erskine Academy in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can the Shipbuilders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
