Basketball Recap: Eureka Triumphs

Eureka won the last time they faced Owyhee and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eureka Vandals came out on top against the Owyhee Braves by a score of 29-17. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vandals.

Megan Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on ten boards and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Gray, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Eureka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Eureka's record is now 11-2. As for Owyhee, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Eureka has already played their next matchup, a 53-4 win against Lund on the 14th. As for Owyhee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-54 defeat against McDermitt on the 17th.
