Volleyball Recap: Elk Lake Warriors vs. Lackawanna Trail Lions
Elk Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Lackawanna Trail Lions. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Elk Lake was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lackawanna Trail work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 27-25.
Lackawanna Trail can attribute much of their success to Ethan Basile, who had five digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Basile a new career-high. Wyatt Laytos also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Elk Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lackawanna Trail, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.
Elk Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Blue Ridge on the 17th. As for Lackawanna Trail, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Forest City on the 17th.
