Baseball Recap: Lamar Consolidated's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Lamar Consolidated can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They blew past the Stafford Spartans 11-4. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lamar Consolidated got a big performance out of Mikey Cuellar, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave Cuellar a new career-high in runs. Sam Johnson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lamar Consolidated always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lamar Consolidated's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Stafford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
