Platte Valley extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-4. Everything went their way against the Highland Huskies as they made off with a 35-14 win. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by exactly 21 points.

As for Highland, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. It was the first time this season that they let down their fans at home.

Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from Tyler Varra, who threw for 200 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Elijah Elder, who gained 130 total yards.

Platte Valley and Highland are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Broncos will face off against Meeker at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Highland, they will square off against Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Fury have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
