Basketball Recap: Shakopee's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Shakopee unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took an 88-84 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prior Lake Lakers. While losing is never fun, the Sabers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Lakers are ranked sixth).

Shakopee's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3. As for Prior Lake, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

When Shakopee and Prior Lake next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Shakopee will try to stop Wayzata's four-game winning streak when the meet at 12:00 p.m. on December 31st. Similarly, Prior Lake will take on St. Michael-Albertville and their five-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
