Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Boulder Panthers

Horizon has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Monday. They will square off against the Boulder Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Horizon really took it to Thompson Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-39 win at home.

Horizon found their leader in underclassman Boaz Wisne, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Another player making a difference was Brady Greene, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Boulder took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). They breezed by Greeley West at home to the tune of 88-49. With Boulder ahead 47-25 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Boulder's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Stein led the charge by scoring 27 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Kyle Blauch was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds.

The victory got Horizon back to even at 1-1. As for Boulder, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Horizon won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Boulder 44-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Horizon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
