Softball Recap: West Caldwell Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

West Caldwell had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Lincolnton on Friday. The Warriors blew past the Wolves 14-2. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won six in a row.

Abby Bowman was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daylann Patterson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

West Caldwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincolnton only posted an OBP of .217.

West Caldwell pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lincolnton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

West Caldwell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against West Lincoln on the 8th. As for Lincolnton, they have also already played their next game, a 10-9 victory against East Burke on the 8th.
